Welcome to Kindergarten, I feel honored and privileged to be teaching in such a supportive learning and Catholic faith based environment. I would like to share a little about myself. My name is Diana Torres, I was born and raised in Chihuahua, Mexico where I earned my Bachelors of Science in Education along with my teaching license back in the year 2003. Looking back at my early childhood, I welcomed my vocation to teach anyone and everyone whom crossed my path. I was fortunate to practice my profession in my native country before marrying my husband and moving to the United States of America. My husband and I are proud parents of our beautiful children: Isabella, Steven; whom currently attend St. Joseph's School and Katherine. When I arrived to this country, I knew I had to continue my career and take on the challenge of mastering a new language. Although, I studied English in Mexico, I knew I needed a stronger foundation. I started taking ESL classes and graduated a few months later; however I knew there was still so much to learn and do in order for me to continue doing what I love to do: teaching. My transcripts were evaluated and were accredited, I was moving forward. I enrolled in Reading and Writing classes at the local community college, Rio Hondo. Next, I applied and was accepted at the Cal State Fullerton Credentialing Program. I was on my way. Since I didn't want lo leave my kids "alone" I was working only part time, substitute teaching at various institutions while they were at school. Then, in 2013, when it was time for my youngest son to attend school full time, I was blessed to be hired as the Kindergarten teacher here at Saint Joseph School. I am currently working on my credential and Masters Degree at Loyola Marymount University. I've always had a passion for teaching, especially the little guys, and I strongly believe that if we love what we do, the children learn to love learning too.
